Regatta Central Registration Help.
You must register and pay by the end of the first week, that is, by April 7. This page contains some information that will help you with the registration process.
All registration is done through RegattaCentral. You don’t have to pay online, you’ll see that you can opt to pay by check (which you would give to your program rep), but you do need to register for annual membership. It’s not any more expensive to pay online—you’ll pay the same amount whether you pay online or give us a check. We need you to register so that we can keep track of all of our members and payments in one place. It’s easy! Just click on Regatta Central Capital sign-up linkand fill out the form.
A couple of things you’ll need to know:
If you are a returning member, and you registered on Regatta Central last year, you have a four-digit user ID, which they assigned you, and a password, which you chose yourself. If you don’t remember those, go to https://www.regattacentral.com/password.jsp and they’ll email you the information. No one at Capital has that information, so the only way to get it is through them. You’ll need this information to register. They don’t let you set up a new account if you already have one.
A new item: the Volunteer Corps: when you register, you will be asked to choose an area in which you’d be interested in volunteering. As you know, we are an all-volunteer organization. Everything that gets done, from maintaining the boathouse and equipment to raising the money that helps keep our dues down, is done by volunteers. Capital asks that its members each commit to two volunteer activities per year. We’ve asked this for many, many years. The new item is just a way for us to keep track of our potential volunteers, and, hopefully, reduce the amount of pleading emails we send to the everybody list. By choosing one, you are not committing to a particular volunteer event, you’re just indicating an area of primary interest. And you can certainly feel free to volunteer for things in other areas. Here are the choices, and what is included in each:
Fundraising Corps Gear helpers High donors ($1000+) Auction/Gala Corporate/Community $Outreach Grant writing Data Entry Redskins/Nationals Games Communications/Publicity Website content
|
Equipment/Safety Corps Monthly Coxswain clinics Regular boat maintenance Erg/other equipment repairs Safety inventory
|
Community Rowing Corps Novice Classes Learn to Row days Youth rowing camp We Can Row

After you register for annual membership, you can register for your particular program. Please Note: An odd feature of RegattaCentral is that it compiles all of your registration information with last year’s. So when you get to the final invoice for your annual membership, you may see a lot of other registrations on there. This wasn’t an issue in 2007 because it was the first year we used RegattaCentral. What you are seeing is last year’s information plus whatever you just registered for. You are not being charged for those programs. If you look closely, you’ll see that you were charged for annual membership only, and that your final balance is 0. In the future, it may be possible to divide out information by year, but at present it is not.
