Capital Rowing Club is committed to bringing rowing opportunities and excellence in rowing to the diverse community of the Anacostia River and the larger Washington DC area. Capital is a volunteer-directed, non-profit, educational organization offering rowing instruction for the greater Washington, DC, community. The benefits of recreational and competitive rowing, such as discipline, camaraderie, fitness, knowledge of water safety, and the appreciation for the Anacostia River as a valuable natural and recreational resource should be available to everyone.
Capital’s Competitive Sweep Rowing program is intended for the serious rower that wishes to attend and win at regattas. ( More... )
Capital’s Club PM program is for the rower that wishes to develop their rowing skills in a structured but relaxed atmosphere. This program is also perfect for the returning rower needing to brush up on skills or the rower that is unable to attend the Club AM program. ( More... )
Capital’s Club AM program is for the rower that wishes to develop the skills needed to become a competitive rower. This program is also well-suited for an experienced rower needing to brush up on skills or for the serious rower that is unable to make the time commitment to the Competitive Sweep program. Capital’s Navy Yard Program is meets three times per week during lunchtime. This program consists mainly of (but is not limited to) beginner and intermediate sweep rowers that are Active Duty or Civilian employees of the Washington Navy Yard. ( More... )
